World War II hand grenade found in Carleton-in-Craven

Army bomb disposal teams safely blew up a hand grenade on Sunday evening, after it was discovered in fields behind the village church in Carleton near Skipton.

In a short statement released on social media, North Yorkshire Police thanked residents of the village affected by the incident.

Officers added that the area had been cleared and demmed safe, following a controlled explosion by Army Bomb Disposal Officers.
