Woofts family dog event to take place at Cliffe Castle

Dog owners are being invited to a special event at Keighley's Cliffe Castle park this weekend.

The free 'Woofts' event on Saturday (3rd June) between 11am and 2pm is taking place near the cafe in the grounds of Cliffe Castle.

It hopes to raise money for local rehoming charity Aireworth Dogs in Need, which will be selling products, running a tombola and offering microchipping.

There are also dog and owner wellbeing walks taking place at 11.30am and 1pm.

Plus there's a fun family dog show, face painting and children's crafts.

Cliffe Castle Support Group is backing the event. A spokesperson says: "It’s sure to be a fun and informative day for both dog owners and pooches.

"Show categories will include 'musical bumps', which is musical chairs for dogs, or maybe your pet has the 'waggiest tail' or 'marvellous markings'? Perhaps someone in the family is the 'best junior handler', or somebody owns a 'dog of the day'? Registration for all categories opens at 11am, but can be made up to ten minutes before the start of each.

"Please note dogs must be on a lead in the event area."

Here's a selection of what's happening on the day.

  • Wellbeing Walks with Val Preston of Truly Essential at 11.30am and 1pm
  • Doggy Musical Bumps at 1.30pm
  • Aireworth Dogs in Need - stall and tombola
  • Beth from Keighley Photohub will be doing pet portraits
  • Council Wardens – Sharing info for dog owners
  • Men’s Shed – Stall selling dog woodwork products
