Witness appeal after serious A59 crash west of Skipton

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them following a serious collision on the A59 at West Marton on Friday night.

It happened at around 9.30pm on Friday (15th July 2022) when a a white Volvo C30 car carrying four people and a red Parcelforce articulated lorry collided at the crossroads.

A passenger in the Volvo, a man in his 20s, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a serious condition.

The road was closed for a number of hours as a result on Friday night.

Roads policing officers are appealing for anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or the collision itself to get in touch. Anyone who may have captured dashcam footage of the vehicles or the collision is urged to get in touch.
