Two cars stolen after break-in at house in Cononley

Two vehicles have been stolen from a house in Cononley over the weekend after thieves broke into the property and took the car keys.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal over what they described as a "2-in-1 burglary" at the house on Meadow Lane in the village in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The burglars gained entry to the property by forcing the front door at some time between 1am and 2.15am on Sunday (11th June).

Police say the thieves located the car keys and took the vehicles from the driveway - a grey Volkswagen Golf, registration A17 GFT and a black Land Rover Discovery, registration J1 JCA. 

A spokesperson for the force said: "We're carrying out enquiries and are appealing for the public for their assistance to help identify suspects involved. 

"Anyone who witnessed anything  suspicious in the area at the time of the burglary, or anyone who captured dash cam, doorbell or CCTV footage of the vehicles leaving in the area is asked to get in touch"
