St George's Day parade will go through Skipton this Sunday

Local scout groups will take to the streets of Skipton town centre this weekend for the annual St George's Day parade.

The South Craven District Scouts' St Georges Day parade will be held on Sunday (23rd April).

The parade will assemble on Petyt Grove before heading along Newmarket Street and up the High Street to Holy Trinity Church between 2.30pm and 3pm on Sunday.

Those roads will be shut for a short period of time while the parade is on the move. Cars parked on the High Street will not be able to move whilst the parade is taking place.

A spokesperson for Skipton Town Council said: "We ask you are patient and help us to support the Scouts with the parade. All the roads will be re-opened by 3 o'clock."
