Skipton school children benefit from estate agency’s ‘sporting gesture’

Children from Greatwood Community Primary School are the latest to benefit from an estate agency’s programme of community support.

Dale Eddison’s High Street branch has linked up with to provide the school with eye-catching new sports vests for its pupils.

Headteacher Jonelle Yeoman said: “We really appreciate the sponsorship that Dale Eddison has given to our school.

“It’s so important that we make our children feel good about themselves. Wearing the vests for local events – such as cross country and orienteering - will not only improve their self-esteem, but also encourage better performances.”

Dale Eddison’s Skipton branch manager, Helen Carter, said the vests were part of a triple package of support for the school.  She said: “We are always looking for ways to offer grass-roots support to charities and good causes across the community.

“As part of this, we’re committed to supporting local schools and are thrilled to be able to deliver a little joy to the children of Greatwood Community Primary School.”

Over and above this donation, the branch has turned to the artistic skills of the school children as part of a competition to design a “Welcome to your new home” to give to all our house movers.

As well as seeing the winning design gracing the cover of these move-in cards, the winner will also win a Kindle.

Helen added: “We have been at the very heart of Skipton for more than five years and there are many home-grown members of staff working in the business that will be familiar faces to many.

“As an independent Yorkshire-based agency, we are proud of our strong roots and always welcome the opportunity of giving something back to the community whenever we can.

“This is why we have also re-launched our ‘Give Back Scheme’ as part of the Greatwood partnership. For every person that is associated with the school, who chooses to sell a property through us, we will donate £250 to school funds upon completion of the sale of their property.”
