Popular Rotary Midsummer Brass returns

The Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale is delighted to announce the return of the popular Midsummer Brass featuring The City of Bradford Brass Band, the first since the onset of Covid.

This year the venue will be All Saints’ Parish Church, Church Street, Ilkley on Friday, 7th July commencing at 7.30pm, in aid of wo charities; Parkinson’s UK and End Polio Now.

The City of Bradford Brass Band are currently in the Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships - no easy feat in the Yorkshire region where most of the world's finest bands reside! They are also in the World Top 20 rankings amongst such names as Black Dyke, Brighouse and Rastrick, Fodens, Cory, Grimethorpe and others from the US and Europe.

Current British Open Senior Cup Champions and Wychavon Champions, the band was recently invited to play for the visit to Bradford of His Majesty King Charles III - during that performance, they played a world first of a Brass - Bhangra Mash Up with Punjabi Roots demonstrating our diversity as a group.

The City of Bradford Brass Organisation is based in the centre of Bradford and is self-funding - income is derived mainly from player subscriptions and concert revenue so the band is always keen to build on their relationships with organisations such as Rotary.

Ticket prices are Adults: £15.00; Under 16s: £7.00. Soft drinks, tea and coffee in the interval included in the ticket price. Some wine will be available but will be charged for. Tickets available from the Ilkley Visitor Information Centre in Ilkley Library or online – search Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary in your browser.
