Nominations wanted for LS29 environmental heroines

Ilkley Soroptimists and Ilkley Fairtrade Group are seeking nominations for LS29 environmental heroines.

The local group which is part of Soroptimists International, a global women's organisation inspiring action to transform the lives of women and girls, has teamed up with Ilkley Fairtrade Group to find local women in the LS29 area who have worked hard to make a difference to people by working on environmental issues.

A spokesperson said: “We are Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022 by acknowledging the work of those who deserves recognition for their work to protect and or improve the environment, either voluntary or paid.

“Why not nominate them by completing the form which is available from The Clarke Foley Centre, the Community Action Office on Riddings Road, our website; plus on Sunday we’ll be at Real Food Ilkley, the market on the Grove.”

The Ilkley Soroptimists website is sigbi.org/ilkley and nominations close on 10 February 2022.
