No impact on lessons after Covid case at Keighley secondary school

Beckfoot Oakbank School in Keighley says there has been no impact on classroom learning after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Three other staff members at the school, on Oakworth Road in the town, were in close contact with the confirmed case and so are also isolating for 14 days.

None of those staff were in close contact with any students.

Tina Smith, Headteacher at Beckfoot Oakbank School told Rombalds Radio: "There is no impact on classroom learning in school, all students can attend as usual. This information has been shared with colleagues, parent and carers.

"Our community is very important to us and as always, we have been open and honest and kept all informed. The health and wellbeing of all remains our priority.

"We are delighted to have students in school this week and they are very happy to back. We appreciate the hugely positive continued support of our community that helped this to happen. We continue to review our risk assessment in order that we adhere to all current guidance, keep our community informed and to support our students and families in any way we can."
