New mental health support group launches in Ilkley this week

Jimmy Vaughan with Louise, Sarah and Peter

Talk and Thrive is a new mental health support group for men starting this week in Ilkley.

The Ilkley group will be run by Jimmy Vaughan and Peter Western and starts on Wednesday, June 16, at the Clarke Foley Centre on Cunliffe Road between 7pm to 8pm.

With groups already in Keighley, Skipton and Cross Hills, Talk and Thrive aims is to get men to talk and to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

There is also a women's group based in Keighley run by Louise and Sarah (pictured) and a wellbeing cafe.

The Talk and Thrive team teach mental health students at Keighley College, assist West Yorkshire Police's specialist unit regarding abuse and have a regular Sunday evening show on Drystone Radio.
