Copper Spoon Cakery opens the doors to its shop on the Skipton Road, Ilkley on Saturday 12 June bringing its own style of contemporary cakes to the town.
Selling a delicious selection of cakes, Copper Spoon Cakery will be offering a take-away service as well as stocking a range of local, hand-made artisan gifts and homeware from brands such as Little Beacon, Hattie Clark, Burnt Orchid and Objectify.
Alice Pearson, owner of Copper Spoon Cakery says “The shop has been a dream of mine for some time and I can’t wait to add the final finishing touches to the shop, stock the shelves and bake some delicious cakes before we welcome customers to the shop for our Grand Opening on Saturday. We will have a special treat for our first 50 customers, a little mini cake as a thank you for visiting us on our opening day.
I'm totally passionate about great food and it's important to me that our cakes taste as beautiful as they look, so at Copper Spoon Cakery we will be using locally sourced and organic ingredients wherever possible.
I hope our creations bring a little bit of happiness to those who taste them!”
Copper Spoon Cakery was launched in 2017, when self-taught baker Alice left the daily grind of the office behind and started a home baking business in Ilkley. She has never looked back becoming Ilkley Business Award Finalists (Micro Business of the Year 2020). As regular stall holders at the Real Food Ilkley market since 2017, Copper Spoon Cakery have built a loyal customer base in the town.
Also specialising in celebration and bespoke wedding cakes, the move to new premises means that the business will be able bake and supply more celebration cakes, especially as weddings resume after the lockdown restrictions. From the 15th June couples will be able to book a consultation, taste the cakes and discuss their plans for their big day with Alice.
Alice ends “I’d like to say thank you to our customers for their continued support, they have helped the business grow so much in the last 12 months.
The success of Copper Spoon Cakery has meant that we needed to find new kitchen premises to meet the demand for cakes. Now we are opening, I can bring my passion for baking using organic, seasonal ingredients to a wider audience, offering something new and exciting to cake-lovers in the town!”
