Police have sought to reassure local people in Keighley after reports of a man with a weapon in the town on Thursday evening.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police say a 26 year old man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and is being held in custody.
He’s expected to be questioned by police on Friday.
The arrest followed what they said was a ‘number of calls’ from concerned residents.
Officers also thanked colleagues from West Yorkshire Fire Service for their assistance in the town.
