Local rotarians partner with Rotary Club of Lviv to help Ukrainian mums

The Rotary Club of Haworth and Worth Valley has linked up with fellow rotarians in Ukraine to help supply items needed by pre and post-natal women and their babies.

People in the Worth Valley are being asked to donate goods that will help pregnant Ukrainian women and new mothers with their babies to cope with the hardships caused by the war in their country.

The Worth Valley Rotarians have established a link with the Rotary Club of Lviv in the Ukraine and gather have supplied a list of things that the Ukrainian women badly need.

The shopping list includes: clean baby clothes, blankets and thermal blankets, electronic thermometers, disposable nappies, antiseptic gel, paracetamol, and feminine hygiene products.

And the Rotarians have linked up with the Freemason Lodge of the Three Graces in Haworth as well as the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain as partners in the project.

Donations can be made by delivering donated goods to the Freemasons’ lodge building in Mill Hey, Haworth BD22 8NA between 10.30am and 7.30pm on Saturday 12th November or from 10.00am until 4.30pm on Sunday 13th November

Ian Park, the President of the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley, said: “We’ve been trying to create a way in which to help in Ukraine for quite some time and thanks to the efforts of a group of our own members we’re now able to start the project.

“Our partners, the Rotary Club of Lviv, the Lodge of the Three Graces and the Association Ukrainians in Great Britain have been incredibly helpful and we’re really grateful to them.

“All we ask is that if you are able to spare anything that it’s clean and good condition.”
