Keighley teenager arrested in Skipton over vehicle theft

Police in Skipton have arrested an 18 year old man from Keighley in connection with the theft of a stolen vehicle.

The car had been taken from a house in Grassington on Thursday night following a burglary in the village.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police were quickly alerted to the scene and pursued the stolen vehicle.

It was spotted leaving the Morrisons supermarket car park on Broughton Road in Skipton before coming to a stop on Ruskin Avenue.

The two occupants - described as two white males in their late teens – jumped out of the vehicle and it collided with two parked cars, causing damage.

The suspects made off on foot before one was arrested nearby. Following questioning, he was released on conditional police bail.

Enquiries are ongoing to track down the second suspect.
