Councillor Julie Adams and dragon!

Keighley Town Council has again teamed up with the Airedale Shopping Centre to host its annual St George's Day celebrations.

The family event takes place this Sunday (23rd April) from 11am to 4pm and will feature a variety of free activities including face painting, balloon modelling, arts and crafts, stilt walkers and the opportunity for kids to make their own fire-breathing wish dragons (if accompanied by an adult).

Children can also take photos with St George and the dragon who will be The Mayor, Cllr Luke Maunsell and Chair of the Events & Leisure Committee, Cllr Julie Adams of Keighley Town Council.

They can also participate in the dragon egg trail organised by the shopping centre. In addition, there will be two performances of a Punch and Judy show. Children are being encouraged to dress up in medieval costumes for the day too.

Keighley Town Council is also running a colouring competition which has a deadline of Friday 21st April at 5pm. Entries can be posted in the blue post box at the Civic Centre, North Street, or emailed to david.robertson@keighley.go.uk.

The Mayor will judge and select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners who will receive a creative activity voucher worth £50, £30 and £20 respectively.
