Keighley man jailed for child sexual assault

44 year old Vincent Sherman has been found guilty of three charges of sexual activity with a child and one charge of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

At Bradford Crown Court today (Friday 18th February), Sherman was jailed for 6 years.

The offending took place in March 2019.

Sherman was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Detective Inspector Claire Smith from the Child Vulnerable to Exploitation Team, Bradford, for West Yorkshire Police said: "Sherman is a threat to young women, and I am pleased with the sentence handed down today.

"I would like to praise the victims bravery and courage in coming forward and reporting this crime to us. I hope today’s sentence will give her some justice as she moves forward with her life.

"We have dedicated safeguarding officers here in Bradford who are specially trained to deal with anyone who has been a victim of a sex offence. We treat everyone in the strictest confidence and provide support to people who need it."
