Junior Parkrun first anniversary in the summer

The Ilkley Riverside Gardens Junior Parkrun takes place every Sunday morning

The Riverside Gardens Junior Parkrun in Ilkley takes place every Sunday morning at 9am and is coming up to its first anniversary in August.

It’s a 2km run (or walk or jog) around the riverside area and is open to anyone from four to fourteen, adults are welcome to join their children, but their times don’t get recorded.

It’s to free to take part, registration is on the website parkrun.org.uk, where those taking part will be issued an athlete barcode.

The event relies on a number of volunteers marshals and organisers are always looking for more people to help on a Sunday morning. Volunteers can sign up at parkrun.org.uk, where they’ll also be issued a barcode. DoE volunteers are welcomed.

Along with this Junior event, parkruns open to all are held each Saturday morning at 9am at Aireville Park in Skipton and Cliffe Castle in Keighley.

A spokesperson said: "parkrun is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate."
