Ilkley Half Marathon profits already benefitting our community

Charities in Ilkley and Keighley have benefitted from over £35,000 raised from the 2021 Ilkley Half Marathon.

Following applications to the Ilkley Round Table, funding has been provided to support three charities and initiatives, and these funds are already being put to good use.

Living Lights Keighley is a charity that provides support to the most vulnerable in our community, providing a mobile food bank, home visit services and drop in centres. Funding provided to the charity will enable the continued provision of these services and help homeless people get the support they need.

Secondly, Ilkley Round Table has supported Olicana Cricket Club who were the unfortunate victims of arson in 2019. The club has now been completely rebuilt and funding provided will enable access to and completion of the outside area so that the club can be fully utilised to once again support grass roots engagement with cricket.

Last but by no means least, The Ilkley and District Petanque Association have already raised considerable funds to construct a petanque piste for public use in Riverside Park. The funding provided by Ilkley Round Table enables the completion of the project that will deliver additional local facilities that promote sport and outdoor activity for all ages.

If you are aware of a local cause that you would like to be considered for funding, please get in touch with the Ilkley Round Table by emailing communityservice@ilkleyroundtable.org.uk to obtain an application form.
