Organisers of the first ever Santa Fun Run in Haworth's Central Park have declared the event a 'major success'
The run, which has been staged to raise funds for the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley's Charitable Trust Fund attracted around 40 Santas; and a great time was had by all.
Most of the runners did ten laps around the park which is close to five kilometres and the field included Robbie Moore, MP for Keighley and Ilkley, who completed the course.
Any sponsorship money raised by the Fun Run will be used to help finance the club's Community Grant Scheme which is designed to provide grants for small organisations in the Worth Valley.
Ian Park, the Club’s President of the Rotary Club of Haworth & Worth Valley said, said: “It was a wonderful community occasion and we’re delighted with the way our first-ever Santa Fun Run worked out.
“Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and, hopefully we’ll raise some money to help support other organisations in the Worth Valley.
“Our thanks also go to Haworth Bowling Club who provided hot drinks and cakes for the Santa Fun Run crowd. Their work was really appreciated.”
This year's Great Skipton Santa Fun Run, which has been going for almost 20 years now, takes place tomorrow (Sunday 27th November).
đ đââď¸đ đââď¸Huge well done to Haworth & Worth Valley Rotary for organising Haworthâs Santa Fun Run, a full 5km - all to raise money for club's community grants programme.
