Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is inviting local people to attend a special church service for a winter remembrance service to celebrate the lives of those who've died.
The Lights of Love service will take place at St Michael & All Angels Church in Haworth on Sunday 11th December.
Featuring readings, poems, carols and live music, the service will include a moment for reflection and will finish with refreshments and mince pies.
The gathering gives the opportunity for people to come together alongside others in their community who are also living with loss and guests are invited to make a dedication in memory of someone special, which will be displayed at the event.
The event will be led by Lisa Holland, Spiritual Coordinator at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope, with readings from volunteers and staff.
The service is free to attend and is open to anyone who wishes to commemorate a loved one, regardless of when they died or whether they were a former patient of Sue Ryder.
Lisa says: “We recognise that this time of year can be more difficult when you are living with loss, so we hope that people will join our winter Lights of Love event this December to pay tribute to loved ones who are sadly no longer with us.
“When someone dies it can raise a range of emotions and we hope Lights of Love will give people a small measure of comfort and reassurance that they are not alone.”
Due to capacity of the venue, limited places are available with spaces allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. For more information or to register to attend visit sueryder.org/lightshaworth or contact the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice Fundraising Team via email manorlands.fundraising@
For those that are unable to attend the event in person, there is also an online dedication wall available at sueryder.dedicationpage.org/
