Harry takes on Ilkley Half in aid of The Principle Trust

On Sunday, Harry Morse of CrossFit Skipton will take part in the Ilkley Half Marathon to support the work of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

Harry enjoys pushing himself in challenges and raising money for charity saying: “this follows the values that we hold dear at CrossFit Skipton, in that we train everything, ready for anything, and if we can help some people along the way then that is particularly special for us.”

This is not the first time CrossFit Skipton have gone to marathon efforts to support the Yorkshire children’s charity, in June this year Chris Cummins, gym owner and his partner Beth Gorman, nurse took on The Coniston Trails in aid of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity raising over £1,400.

Mike Davies MBE, founder of the charity, said - “We wish Harry all the very best running the half marathon, and thank him for choosing to support our local charity.“

2021 marks the charity’s 10th year anniversary and our aim is to raise sufficient funds to purchase a sixth holiday lodge, adapted for the use of disabled children. Since The Principle Trust Children’s Charity was founded in 2011, through generous donations, support and grants we have given over 3,200 underprivileged and disadvantaged children and their families a free holiday. Since 2018, we have provided 300 plus disabled children and their families with free respite care.”

The charity works closely with other charities, local authorities and social workers who refer vulnerable children. The feedback and commentary received after the children return from a holiday, really proves that what they provide is truly effective and has long lasting impacts especially to their mental health and wellbeing.
