Full list of candidates revealed for North Yorkshire Mayoral election

Voters will select North Yorkshire and York's first Mayor when they make their choices at the ballot box on Thursday 2nd May.

Nominations have now closed and it has been announced that six candidates are standing for election to the role.

The new Mayor will oversee the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority which launched on 1st February.
 
The candidates are:
Felicity Cunliffe-Lister – Liberal Democrats
Keane Duncan – The Conservative Party Candidate
Kevin Foster – The Green Party candidate
Paul Haslam – Independent
David Skaith – Labour and Co-operative Party
Keith Tordoff – Independent

 
Voting will take place from 7am to 10pm with the election count held on Friday 3rd May. Voters attending the polling station for the election on 2nd May will need to bring photographic identification in order to be able to vote.
 
Residents have until midnight on Tuesday 16th April to register to vote and until 5pm on Wednesday 17th April to apply for a postal vote. Anyone without a suitable photo ID can apply for a free voter authority certificate before 5pm on Wednesday 24th April.
