Football and golf combine for new game in Skipton park

Craven Leisure has introduced a new 'Pitch and Foot' course at Aireville Park, bringing together golf and football for a family game.

It's utilising the former pitch and putt course in the park, with groups and families able to book sessions on the course in staggered 15 minute tee-times.

Similar to golf, the aim of the game is to get your football in the hole with as few kicks as possible.

Balls can be collected from Craven Leisure reception prior to your tee time, along with a scorecard which includes all the rules of the game.

Anthony Slater, Deputy Manager of Craven Leisure, said: “We were keen to make the best use of this area of the park, which has proved difficult to maintain over the last few years due to numerous rabbit holes and other issues.

“Pitch and Foot is a really exciting, accessible game and we’re sure people will want to give it a go!”

Pitch and Foot sessions cost £4 for children, £8 for adults and £20 for families of two adults and up to three children. There's also a £5 deposit which will be refunded on return of the ball.

The course is open 10am-8pm during school holidays and 4-8pm in term-time. Sessions can also be booked 9am-3pm at weekends.

The long-term future of the pitch and putt course is still under review while a new masterplan for Aireville Park in Skipton is developed.
