Essential repairs in February on Kildwick New Bridge

Kildwick New Bridge in Craven is set to undergo essential repairs over four consecutive nights with the closure of the A629 Southbound.

The southbound carriageway of the A629 heading towards Kildwick roundabout will be closed over four nights from Monday February 8 to Thursday February 11, between 6pm and 6am.

Southbound traffic will be diverted along Skipton Road and Main Road to the roundabout during the closure. Parking will be prohibited on the diversion route for the four days.

County Councillor Patrick Mulligan, local member for Airedale, said: “Our highways teams are due to replace an expansion joint on Kildwick New Bridge. Work is being carried out over four nights to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum. During lockdown the roads should be quiet but please allow extra time for your journeys.”

Advance warning signs are in place and there will be a signed diversion during the road closure period.

Operatives working on site will be observing all Government guidelines on safe social distancing.
