Enjoy good music and company with Wharfedale Recorded Music Society

Wharfedale Recorded Music Society invite lovers of classical music to listen to their favourite works and discover new pieces with the society’s new season start next month.

A spokesperson for the society said: “Our friendly gatherings, on Wednesday evenings, celebrate a musical repertoire spanning several centuries from Bach and Purcell to Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten. We begin on Wednesday October 12th with symphonies by Haydn, Beethoven and Berlioz. Highlights of this year’s programme include ballet from La Scala and an opera by Delius, as well as talks by visiting musical experts including well-known local conductor, John Anderson.”

The society meets on Wednesdays at St John’s Church Hall, Bolling Road, Ben Rhydding, at 7.45pm. New members will be warmly welcomed at the first meeting on 12th October, or indeed at any time during the season.

Annual membership for the whole season of 20 meetings is £37, or £4 for one evening’s meeting, and refreshments are included.

For any further details, phone Catherine Clarke on 01943 608664, or Pip Cowling on 0786 600 4838.
