Couple celebrate 25 years of frying in one of the oldest fish and chip shops

For the last 25 years, Hayley and Jonathan Hunt have been serving fish and chips at North Parade Fisheries in Ilkley - one of the oldest in the country!

The business was established in 1904, making it 118 years old!

Buying the business in December 1997 was a big career change for both of them but they have managed and worked as a team for the last 25 years to see their business become one of the best chippys in Yorkshire.

Hayley says: “We use the finest sustainable haddock and a local potato merchant to produce top quality fish and chips. We are only a husband and wife team so can keep our products affordable.

"The last 25 years have had their ups and downs! We have survived through Covid and hopefully will manage to keep going through the very tough economic times we are all currently facing.

"But most of all we would like to thank our loyal and valued customers for their continued support, please keep coming in as we wouldn’t be here without you.“
