An archaeology walk wraps up 2022 Friends of Ilkley Moor events

The Friends of Ilkley Moor organised an archaeology walk on Sunday 11th September, led by Gavin Edwards, for people to discover the rich archaeology of Ilkley Moor.

The last walk of the 2022 programme started from the Cow and Calf car park with an uphill climb to explore the enclosure and several cup and ring marked rocks. A very informative event enjoyed by everyone who attended.

More practical conservation days in habitat management and footpath restoration took place on the Tuesday volunteer days, where participants helped manage and conserve Ilkley Moor.

Tracy Gray said: "people had lots of fun on these events as well as helping to conserve Ilkley moor and learning about its heritage."

Walks will recommence in spring 2023 and details will be published on the website www.ilkleymoor.org

Anybody who is interested in attending future events or volunteer days please contact Tracy Gray, FOIM Project Officer on 07780535860 or tracy@ilkleymoor.org
