Keighley independents campaign ends with a bang

Wendy Clitheroe from Oakworth the £2000 voucher winner

13 winners shared the £8000 prize fund by shopping with Keighley's independents

The biggest ever Keighley Independents Campaign has come to a close with a record number of shops taking part since the campaign began, with Wendy Clitheroe from Oakworth winning the grand prize of £2000 in shopping vouchers.

Shoppers simply had to collect three stamps from three individual businesses in September to be entered into the draw to win £2000 or one of 12 lots of £500 in shopping vouchers.

The Keighley Independents Campaign was launched in 2016 by Keighley BID to encourage shoppers to shop locally with independent businesses and be rewarded in the process by being entered in to a generous competition. BID Manager Paul Howard said “We felt it important to use some of our resources to encourage residents to support their small, local businesses in the town centre, particularly during the pandemic”.

Since it was established, Keighley BID, also known as Discover Keighley, has been a key figure in organising family-focussed events and providing support to local businesses. While events are currently on hold, the Keighley Independents Campaign will be back again this year, just in time for Christmas, promising another enormous prize fund.
