Under part of Bradford Council's plans to reopen its museums and galleries, Cliffe Castle will be open 4 days a week from today.
Bradford museums have announced winter opening times due to the coronavirus pandemic and changing seasonal conditions.
These changes have had to be put in place to ensure the safety of visitors and staff in the museums.
The winter opening hours will be:
- Cliffe Castle Museum: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, 11am to 3pm
- Bradford Industrial Museum: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 11am to 3pm
- Cartwright Hall: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11am to 3pm
- Bolling Hall Library & Museum - opening shortly
Now that children are back at school the museums have introduced additional Just for School days at Cartwright Hall and Cliffe Castle.
On Just for School days the museums will be closed to members of the public so that booked workshops for school groups can take place in a Covid secure environment.
Until February 2021, Thursdays at Cliffe Castle and Tuesdays at Cartwright Hall will be only open for school groups.
The Industrial Museum is available to take school bookings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The building has very good Covid Safe approved spaces for school group use.

All Bradford Council’s Museums and Galleries had to close in March due to the spread of Covid-19, since then only the Industrial Museum and Cartwright Hall Art Gallery have been able to reopen.
Each museum has had to go through a series of checks, and has put measures in place to make sure that people can visit safely.
To ensure the safety and comfort of visitors and staff there will be hand sanitiser stations throughout the museums, extra cleaning routines will be in place, one way systems will guide people safely around the highlights of each museum.
Staff will monitor visitor numbers so areas don’t get overcrowded.
People will be encouraged to maintain social distancing and in line with government guidance visitors will be asked to wear face coverings unless exempt.
Unfortunately some areas may remain closed, where it is not possible for people to maintain social distancing.
Museum staff will also be asking visitors to leave their contact details to help with Test and Trace. To make this easier visitor can do this by scanning the QR code poster on the NHS Test & Trace app on their phone.

“We have managed to reopen the Industrial Museum and Cartwright Hall so far and are pleased to be able to announce that Cliffe Castle will be the next museum to reopen.
“Each museum has been awarded a Visit Britain 'We’re Good to Go' safety certificate for Covid Safe attractions. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone and especially school children, back to our museums and galleries.”
