The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway will once again take a starring role as plans are announced for a sequel to the iconic 1970 film, The Railway Children.
Filming will begin in the Worth Valley on Monday (10th May), with Jenny Agutter from the original cast joined by Sheridan Smith and Tom Courtenay.
The Railway Children Return is due to release in UK cinemas on 1st April 2022 and will be a sequel to the original, which has been written by Danny Brocklehurst and will be directed by Morgan Matthews.
Local places to feature in the new movie will include Oakworth Station, Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage and of course the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
Film production company Studiocanal says The Railway Children Return will be an 'enchanting adventure for a new generation bringing a contemporary sensibility to a classic story and combining British cast with stunning locations'.
