Local medical staff celebrated at NHS Parliamentary Awards

A group of doctors, nurses, and other medical staff from the public and voluntary health sectors have been nominated and celebrated at the NHS Parliamentary Awards, following their nomination by Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore.

This included organisations from across the Airedale Wharfedale and Craven Primary Care Network, which include the Mental Health Charity Project 6 based in Keighley, who were nominated as a result of their work to reduce Health Inequalities in the local area.

The group were set up to address the health inequalities in the local areas and get communities fully involved in getting people the health care they need. They have an innovative way of working, which includes physical to visits to Mosques, Churches, Colleges, Community centres and Shopping centres throughout the local community.

The awards, arranged by the NHS, are designed to recognise, and celebrate some of the biggest achievements in health and social care, with hundreds of MPs submitting nominations.

Robbie Moore MP said: “I was delighted to see local groups such as Project 6 celebrated at the NHS Parliamentary Awards, and it was a real privilege to nominate them so we could showcase their efforts on the national stage.

"I have seen first-hand the important work groups from the Airedale Craven Primary Care Network, as well as Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises do for people across our area, particularly in terms of outreach to local communities to ensure they can support local people in any way they can.

"It is so important that the people who do so much work for local people get the recognition they deserve, and it was great to meet with them in Westminster and say thank you for all the work they do.”
