Release date announced and trailer revealed for The Railway Children Return

The first trailer has been released for the sequel to The Railway Children, which is again set and filmed around the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

The Railway Children Return is due to be released in cinemas on 1st April 2022 and stars Jenny Agutter from the original cast, as well as Sheridan Smith, Tom Courtenay and John Bradley.

Filming took place in the Worth Valley in May this year for the sequel, which has been written by Danny Brocklehurst and will see children evacuated to a Yorkshire village during the Second World War, where they encounter a young soldier who is also far from home.

Oakworth Station is seen in the trailer released this week, as well as Keighley station and Haworth Main Street.

Film production company Studiocanal says The Railway Children Return will be an 'enchanting adventure for a new generation bringing a contemporary sensibility to a classic story and combining British cast with stunning locations'.
