Ilkley Civic Society (ICS) is planning its 2023 Awards and needs residents to help by nominating projects in and around the town.
Each year ICS run a competition to promote good design and conservation of buildings and spaces in the town, it is divided into 3 sections;-
Design – for new buildings or extensions
Conservation – for works to historic buildings or features.
Improvements – for smaller projects or environmental improvements
All works on the project need to be substantially complete at 31st December 2022 to qualify for the current awards round. Each section has Awards for exemplars and Commendations for other projects that have still made a positive contribution to the town.
A spokesperson for ICS explains the process should a project be successful: "The applicant and architect/ builder would be invited to the presentation of certificates to be held in March 2023. Following the presentation we seek publicity for the achievement of winners of certificates.
"Should you be interested in us judging the exterior of any property please contact the Society as below. Any member of the public, a group, owners of property or the architect/developer is allowed to nominate works for consideration by the society.
"We look forward to receiving your nominations, previous successful projects have progressed to win regional awards from professional bodies involved in construction."
