New professional orchestra for Ilkley

All Saints' in Ilkley

The newly formed Ilkley Chamber Orchestra will present three concerts a year.

Conductor, John Anderson, is well known to the concert going public in Ilkley, during the past 30 years he has conducted over 100 symphony concerts in the King’s Hall!

John began his career as a percussionist when he was just 16 and this year celebrates 50 years as a professional musician, To mark this milestone John has founded a new professional orchestra, the Ilkley Chamber Orchestra. He has hand picked the musicians from friends and colleagues he has worked with over the years, and his very good friend, violinist, Sally Robinson, has agreed to lead the ensemble.

Their first concert takes place at All Saints’ Parish Church, Ilkley, on Saturday 22 July at 7.30pm. The programme includes works by Schubert, Bach and Mozart.

Tickets are available online from Eventbrite and from Grove Bookshop Ilkley, 01943 609335 or at the door.
