Local firms in running for Yorkshire Choice Awards 2024

Companies and individuals across Skipton, Ilkley and Keighley have been shortlisted for this year's Yorkshire Choice Awards.

Shortlisted for the Customer Service Award are Ambitions Gymnastics, Skipton; Bathe of Wharfedale, Ilkley; Discount Sports, Skipton; Equilibrium, Silsden; and Raven Forge, Crosshills.

Ruth and Tony, owners of Discount Sports Skipton, told Rombalds Radio: "We'd like to express our gratitude for the nomination and thank everyone who has supported the business throughout its journey. In March we will be celebrating our 5th birthday and are excited to confirm we have signed another 5 year lease on the premises on Rope Walk."

Local nominees for the Independent Business of the Year category include Ambitions Gymnastics Ltd, Skipton; Equilibrium, Silsden; Fashion Fiesta CIC, Ilkley; McNally Electrical (Yorkshire) Ltd, Keighley; Soccer Hub, Skipton; Taylored Dental Care, Keighley; and The Ilkley Brewery Co Ltd, Ilkley.

There are two local people shortlisted for Yorkshire Entrepreneur of the Year - Skipton's Jordan Armstrong and Nicky McNally from Keighley.

Keighley's Sohail Abbas receives two nominations - for Inspirational Individual of the Year and the Outstanding Courage Award.

Yvie Ling-Hegarty from Keighley is also nominated for Inspirational Individual of the Year, as well as for the Outstanding Contribution Award.

Emma Sutcliffe from Ilkley is shortlisted for Local Fundraiser of the Year, while among the nominees in the Community Arts Award category are Steeton Court Nursing Home and Emmy Turner Illustration, Skipton.

A public vote now takes place until 12th April to determine finalists and winners ahead of the Gala Dinner on 7th June.
