Investigation after death of man in Skipton park

Three arrests have been made after a man in his 40s died in Aireville Park in Skipton.

There has been an heightened police presence in the area today (Thursday) as a result.

The man died last night - officers say his next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to reassure you by saying we do not believe there to be any threat to the wider community and that three men have been arrested in connection with this incident.

“If you were in the Aireville Park area last night we would first of all like to thank you for your patience and co-operation while the initial stages of the investigation were carried out.

“We would also like to ask you to contact us if we have not already spoken to you, as you may have seen or heard something vital to our investigation.”
