There are plenty of fun-filled, family activities to enjoy in Ilkley, Keighley and across the Bradford district during February half term.

This time of year can be hit and miss with the weather, but the partners of Sparkling Bradford have shared lots of inspiration to keep the kids entertained, come rain or shine!

Dan’s Den soft play

Christchurch, The Grove, Ilkley

Monday to Saturday

A friendly, fun environment for young children and families, Dan’s Den is located in Christchurch, Ilkley. Home to a fantastic cafe for children’s snacks, hot chocolates, and other home cooked goods, families can escape the chilly weather and relax inside Dan’s Den’s soft play.

 

Climbing sessions

Clip ‘n’ Climb, Ilkley

Open daily

An all-weather activity that suits both adults and children, Clip ‘n’ Climb is healthy, action-packed fun that requires no climbing experience. The site includes 21 individual and multi climber challenges of varying designs and difficulties; testing agility and courage in a secure environment.

 

Ingrow West Station, Keighley

There is a week's worth of free educational events aboard the Learning Coach this half term; including a ‘science spectacular’, pirate storytelling, arts and crafts, and ‘play and create’. This is the perfect opportunity for families to learn together combined with a trip on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, running daily through half term.

 

National Science and Media Museum, Bradford

Visit the museum this half term and dive into the world of coding and cyber security!

Create your own coding device, explore how computer coding works and see a live science gameshow.

Join their crazy scientists as they create a volcanic eruption, build an Air Missile Launcher, make mini rockets and create some pretty big bangs …. live on stage.

 

Sing-a-long-a The Greatest Showman

St. George's Hall, Bradford

25th February

At St George’s Hall, enjoy an interactive sing-along screening of the hit 2017 musical film, The Greatest Showman. With lyrics on screen, the audience is encouraged to sing as loud as they can! A live host will teach the audience dance moves and show spectators how to use their free props bag. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and full audience participation is essential.

 

Half Term Have-A-Go

The People Powered Press, Saltaire

21st-25th February

Join the People Powered Press as they create a series of giant murals using the largest letterpress printing press of its kind, in the world. With a simple method using four shaped woodcut blocks, the project aims to make some impressive, big letters which will be put together as murals for display in a variety of public places in the Bradford district.

Tuesday – Sunday

Do you know your ‘One Two Buckle My Shoe’ from your ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’? The Rhyme or Reason exhibition includes a fun trail with characters hidden around the museum. Alongside the nursery rhymes, explore their history and possible origins.

 

The Sparkling Bradford winter campaign works to boost the visitor economy by showcasing the visitor experience on offer across the Bradford district during winter 2022 delivered by partners VisitBradford, The Broadway Bradford, Bradford Business Improvement District (BID), Ilkley BID and Bradford Council.
