Council supports Keighley baby charity

Keighley Town Council says it is proud to support POPI (Pass on Preloved Items) by making a grant donation of £2,500.

POPI is a baby bank based in Keighley which provides items for babies and children up to 5, free of charge, to local families in need.

Most of the stock is donated by kind members of the public and the majority is preloved, but it also provides some items new, for safety reasons.

Referrals to the service come from professionals such as Social Workers, Health Visitors, Family Key Workers, who work closely with families to assess what they need before making a referral.

The grant comes from the town council's main grant pot and ward development funding from Cllr Abberton, Cllr Crangle, Cllr Kirby and Cllr Westerman.

A representative from POPI said: "POPI is extremely grateful to Keighley Town Council for their generous support, which has meant that we have not only been able to meet the referrals made so far, but also have funding to meet this level of need into the future. We would like to give particular thanks to Councillors Mick Westerman and Clare Abberton for their advice, support and guidance. It is truly appreciated."
